Crossroads to host annual Cover All Your Bases Business Expo on May 23

Crossroads, Northwest Indiana’s Chamber of Commerce, is gearing up to host its annual Cover All Your Bases Business Expo. For more than 10 years, the chamber has hosted this community-focused networking opportunity. The event will take place on Tuesday, May 23, and both community members and chamber members are invited to take part in a full day of events and opportunities to connect with businesses in the Northwest Indiana region.

“The Expo gives businesses an awareness and the opportunity to brand and market themselves to the community and chamber members.” Deann Patena, president and CEO of the Crossroads Chamber of Commerce said.

For the third year, the Expo is being held at U.S. Steel Yard, “Home of the Railcats.” Patena shared that the move to Railcats Stadium happened in 2021 so that they could provide a safe, outdoor, option for attendees and it ended up being a great location for the event.

The event kicks off with lunch on the field of the U.S. Steel Yard beginning at 12 p.m. In case of inclement weather, it will be moved indoors at the Stadium. This year the event will feature special keynote speaker Indiana’s Chief Equity, Inclusion & Opportunity Officer Karrah Herring. All chamber members from across Northwest Indiana are invited to attend lunch. Tickets are required and can be purchased for $30 at www.crossroadschamber.org.

The Expo, which is open to the public and free to attend, will take place immediately following the luncheon from 1-4 p.m. This portion of the day will offer community members a chance to network with more than 50 local businesses and learn how they support the community.

Networking will continue at the Business After Hours from 4-6 p.m. The networking portion is also free, but attendees are encouraged to register at www.crossroadschamber.org.

“We want the public to come and talk to all of the businesses and see all of the booths at the Expo but realize not everyone can get away during the business day, so we hope they can join us for more networking at Business After Hours.” Jennifer Reed, director of special events at Crossroads Chamber said.
