A friend of mine introduced us to Thanksgiving Eve of soup and sandwiches so family that is going different directions on Thanksgiving Day can still have time together. Can't wait for this years soups.

We've been living abroad in Tokyo for the last 6 years where US Thanksgiving is just another work day. I had dinner at 7 after my guests finished work for the day. In addition, due to the time zone difference, we didn't get football till Friday and could only see the parades on the internet. I'm looking forward to being all American again--afternoon meal, Chicago & NYC Parades, FOOTBALL!, being with family for the first time in years, and a day off!'

I usually worked Thanksgiving so I could have Christmas off (I am a nurse), I started making home made pizza's with my children on Thanksgiving Day then making the big dinner on the following Saturday. Last year I was off for Thanksgiving and was going to make a traditional dinner, and my children, now 15 and 17 were upset and informed me that pizza was our tradition and we should not change it. They expressed how much they loved all of us in the kitchen together laughing and talking and creating our sometimes strange and unusual but delicious masterpieces. I wouldn't change our memories for anything..... this years menu.... Pizza.
