New physicians join Specialty Physicians of Illinois, LLC

Gastroenterologist, cardiologist and breast surgical oncologist accepting new patients

Three new physicians recently joined Specialty Physicians of Illinois, LLC and are accepting new patients in Olympia Fields.

Gastroenterologist Amer AlSamman, MD; cardiologist Brittany Dixon, MD, FACC and breast surgical oncologist Raquel Gonzalez Heredia, MD, PhD all joined Specialty Physicians of Illinois, LLC this fall.

Dr. AlSamman is a board-certified gastroenterologist. He attended medical school at the University of Alexandria Medical School in Alexandria, Egypt and served as chief resident during his internal medicine residency at TriHealth-Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati. He completed his gastroenterology fellowship at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. and completed an interventional endoscopy fellowship at UC Davis Health in Sacramento, Calif.

Among Dr. AlSamman’s clinical interests are pancreatic and biliary diseases, Barrett’s esophagus and obesity. Dr. AlSamman is accepting new patients at Franciscan Health Gastroenterology Olympia Fields, 3700 W. 203rd St., Suite 201A. To make an appointment, call (708) 679-2120.

Dr. Dixon is a board-certified cardiologist. She attended medical school at Harvard Medical School in Boston and completed her residency at Duke University Hospital in Durham, N.C. She completed her fellowship in cardiology at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Among Dr. Dixon’s clinical interests are women’s heart health, congestive heart failure, lipid management and valvular heart disease. Dr. Gonzalez Heredia is a breast surgical oncologist. She attended medical school at the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid School of Medicine in Madrid. She completed her residency and a fellowship in interdisciplinary breast disease at UI Health in Chicago. Among her clinical interests are robotics, oncoplastic surgical procedures and benign breast disorders.
