Much Ado About Nothing, Shakespeare's classic comedy, is given a contemporary spin in Joss Whedon's film. Shot in just 12 days (and using the original text), the story of sparring lovers Beatrice and Benedick offers a dark, sexy and occasionally absurd view of the intricate game that is love. Rated 'PG-13'. This film series is in cooperation with Purdue North Central and Michigan City Public Library, which is showing a different title November 17 at 2pm.
World War II: Region Remembers

To commemorate Veteran's Day, Lakeshore Public Television will present the documentary World War II: Region Remembers, which features stories from area veterans. After the screening, there will be open discussion with veterans and attendees about their time in service.
Veterans History Project

Veterans, learn how to preserve your service memories and add them to the Library of Congress’ Veteran’s History Project. The Library will provide the tools needed to get started. Families and friends of veterans can learn how to conduct an interview that can be contributed to the Project.
History Explorers Club

A fun book club for kids! Read any book about a provided history theme, then attend the club meeting and share what was learned from the book. A project related to the time period will be made by attendees.
The (Apple) Giving Tree

Juicy, tasty apples come from trees, but trees give us many other things, too. Come hear Shel Silverstein's book The Giving Tree and find out what else we get from trees. Then attendees will make their own applesauce!
Learn Holiday Cross Stitch

Try a new craft for Christmas giving! Cross-stitching on plastic canvas is simple and quick, with pretty results you'll be proud to share. Crafter Barbara Maglio will teach this session, and you will walk home with a cross-stitch ornament you have created! For ages 13-adult. All materials will be supplied. Hot Movies and Popcorn: The Hunger Games

At the Main Library there will be every kind of game imaginable ready for play including: board games, card games, video games, schoolyard games, and much, much more. Come ready to play because there is no plan to waste any fun!
Teen Art Show

Teen artists are invited to submit their artwork to any La Porte County Public Library location during the month of November. Deadline is November 15. The art show will be held at the Main location on Friday, November 22 at 6pm to display all submitted artwork. Three People’s Choice Award Winners will be selected during the show for both Middle School and High School divisions. One entry per person.
