The HannaFest committee is seeking participants to join the parade at this year’s town festival on August 9 in the town of Hanna. The parade begins at 11 am and winds through the streets of town.
“We have one of the strangest parades in the area”, says Jim Jessup, Festival Chairman. “We call it: anything goes, no rules, whoever shows up joins the parade. We encourage creativity, “ Jessup explains. The parade will be led by the Hanna American Legion Color Guard and the Hanna Volunteer Fire Department. Floats , musical groups, decorated golf carts, kids with pets, political office candidates, organizations, businesses, individuals, school groups, and marchers are all welcome. There is no entry fee. “We’d also like a flyover”, Jessup concluded. For more information, contact Jim Jessup at 219-797-4407 or jimjessup@frontier.com. HannaFest is sponsored by the Hanna Lions Club.
