The Chesterton Middle School seventh grade math department celebrated their eighth annual Pi Day this year by reading books to the students, researching the history of Pi, participating in a variety of 'irrational' activities, and the crowning of the Queen, King, Princess and Prince of Pi Day from each math class. Pictured are royalty winners from each class donning their Pi crowns, TOP photo, front seated, left to right, Will Shook, Ethan Mahaffey, Dimitri Nicholson, Natalie Erkman, Madalyn Figg, Olivia Johnson and Tyler Martin. Students competed in the crown-wearing contest by reciting as many digits of Pi as they could remember and some students participated in a word search that contained words related to Pi. Pi Day would not be complete without the eating of real "pie" as a culminating activity. The CMS seventh grade math teachers sponsor this event each year.
