It’s that time of year again when the La Porte County Historical Society displays its vast collection of vintage Valentines. The Valentines are on display in the period rooms at the museum. Paper lace cutouts with romantic sayings, 3-dimensional stand-up cards, and many colorful, nostalgic images grace these long-ago works of art. The antique Valentines will be on display at the museum till the end of February 2016.
In the museum gift shop, Valentine reproductions are now for sale. Some of the images have come from the archives of the La Porte County Historical Society. Also for sale are the softest and cutest Teddy bears ever. They’re just right for that special someone.
For the past several years, the Historical Society has been collecting stories of “The Great Loves of La Porte County.” If you would like to share your love story, come to the museum and fill out a form. The sweeter, the better.
