As you might have heard the Michigan City Police took over the Kiddie Parade in 2015 and was a huge success which created an exciting and memorable experience for children, parents, grandparents and residents.
We are again hosting the 2016 Parade on Friday July 1st at 6:00pm, during First Friday’s beginning at 7th St. and traveling north on Franklin St. to the conclusion at the Michigan City Library. There will be plenty of staff on hand to answer any questions and bathrooms will be available.
- SIGN-UP and REGISTRATION WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE HEALTHLINC PARKING LOT AT 7th and FRANKLIN Streets
- REGISTRATION BEGINS at 4:45pm
- JUDGING WILL BEGIN AT 5:15pm to 5:45pm
- PARADE BEGINS at 6:00pm
- DINNER AT 6:30pm TO 6:45pm
- AWARDS AT 7:00pm
Numerous Sponsors and partners have come forward to help with this “ALL FREE” event. We will be serving a “Healthy Snack” upon registering for the parade and then a FREE Hotdog, chips and drink at the conclusion of the parade for all! So parents don’t worry about dinner!
We will then tally up all the votes as we supply frozen treats to all participants during the awards ceremony. The event will also be broadcast live on television courtesy of Michigan City Live.
We have a “Surprise Parade Grand Marshall’ and just secured the HAMBURGLAR from our friends at McDonalds. The Michigan City High School ROTC color guard will be leading off the parade and we gladly have the return of the ever popular Michigan City Soul Steppers.
This year we have added PETS as an additional category! As the theme is RED, WHITE and ZOO! So use your imagination!
There will be ribbons for everyone, Trophies and prizes!
