What is wireless internet? NITCO has teamed with global leaders in wireless technologies to bring you the latest in fixed wireless broadband equipment. The reception is extremely dependable and can be compared to a radio broadcast from a local station to your home stereo. Your connection comes from our nearest Access Point at an elevated site location in your area. The Access Point then transmits radio waves to the subscriber module affixed to your home. NITCO maintains all equipment essential to your connection.
Installation process Our installation process typically involves only 2 steps. First, a site survey has to be done in order to see if you qualify for the service. Many times this requires our wireless team to gain roof access. You do not need to be home during this time. After line of site to one of our towers is established, a Customer Care Specialist will contact you to set up an installation date. If line of site is not established, we will keep your account in our database so that we may contact you when the service becomes available in your area.
On the day of installation, a member of our wireless team will re-affirm the best place to put the subscriber module for the best possible reception of our tower's signal. Next, the wireless installer will affix the subscriber module to this place. After this, the Category 5 Shielded Cable is run from the subscriber module to a grounded surge protector. From there, the wireless installer will configure the radio settings. Our installers will set up service to one computer, and you are then free to network any additional computers independently. Customers do not pay extra for multiple computers.
