Myers Elementary
This month kindergarten classes at Myers Elementary School explored their school's Maker's Space. The students used STEM manipulatives to build and create in the Maker's Space. Students used Tinker Toys and Zoobs to challenge one another with their creations. Also, students explored educational sites such as Starfall. The Maker's Space allows students to create, explore, and challenge one another with STEM activities.
PHS AP US History
Students in Miss Nye’s PHS AP US History classes staged protest marches for the various reform movements of the 1800s. Creating picket signs, pamphlets, and bumper stickers, they marched in favor of issues such as temperance, prison reform, women’s rights, education reform, and the abolition of slavery. The culminating moment of each march was a 2-minute speech prepared by one of the group members.
