First annual Valparaiso Earth Day volunteer organized event will take to the streets to clean up Valparaiso on April 18th from 9am-11am.
Rachael Cooper, a Northwest Indiana native, approached the city of Valparaiso and with their cooperation and support has created our first Valparaiso Earth Day. Volunteers will be sent to various locations throughout the city to simply pick up trash and try to keep this city clean. With the support of local businesses and the city, trash bags, gloves, water, vests, and a gift bag will be given to all volunteers who help in this effort to keep our city clean.
“It is my hope that this event will open peoples eyes to just how much one person can make a difference in the Green movement by throwing their trash in the garbage instead of out the window” states Rachael Cooper. Volunteers are still needed for this event. All interested participants should email valpoearthday@gmail.com for more information or call 219-916-0523 for more information.
