Tuba Christmas 2020
Cold weather could not stop the annual Tuba Christmas from being held in Valparaiso on Sunday, December 6. Musicians came from across Northwest Indiana, and as far away as Illinois and Michigan to perform in the parking lot of Quinlan and Fabish.
Tuba Christmas is an event with an almost 50 year history. Each year Tuba players, many of which do not know each other, come together for just one day to play Christmas music.
In the past, the event was held in the Valparaiso University chapel. However, this year the event was limited to 25 players and held outdoors to be in compliance with social distancing regulations.
Conducted by Jeff Doebler, the musicians played five songs: Joy to the World, We Three Kings, Angels We Have Heard on High, O Come, O Come Emmanuel and We Wish You a Merry Christmas.
