Obituary for Mary Jane Matthews

Mary Jane Matthews born June 1, 1942 was called home on March 24, 2021. She was reunited with her parents, William Cashmere and Dorothy Lenore Matthews, her sisters, Dorothy Faye Matthews and Malinda Mae (Matthews) Mason and her brother William Floyd Matthews. Mary Jane served her community as a Registered Nurse until her retirement. Throughout her retirement she continued to care for her family and her friends. She was eager to help in any capacity. Mary Jane enjoyed gardening, traveling, sewing, needle point, crocheting, arts and crafts and cooking – especially baking chocolate chip cookies. She is survived by her brother Larry Ancel (Chris) Matthews her sister Karen Dianne (Matthews) Newlin, 10 nieces and nephews, 22 great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews. She was so much to so many. She will be sorely missed and forever in our hearts. A graveside service will take place Saturday April 10th, at 11:00am, at Edgar Cemetery in Paris, Illinois.
