Arbor Day Celebration Friday, April 30

The City of Valparaiso Parks Department will commemorate Arbor Day on Friday, April 30 by planting a tree at ValPlayso at 1400 Glendale Boulevard. valpo_parks The ceremony will take place at 10:00 a.m.

Also for Arbor Day, the Horticulture Division of the Valparaiso Department of Parks and Recreation will be giving away free seedlings to the public. The free tulip trees are available on a first-come-first served basis from Noon to 5 p.m., or until they run out, at ValPlayso, 1400 Glendale Boulevard. The tulip tree is that state tree of Indiana. (Rain sight is the Butterfield Pavilion at the corners of Calumet and Evans Avenues.)
