At Levin Tire, we believe in empowering and informing women about car care. That’s why we’re hosting our first ever ‘Knowledge is Power’ Women’s Car Care Clinic. In this hands-on clinic, we’ll be educating women on several important car care topics. This clinic combines verbal, visual and hands on learning in a relaxed setting.

Release your stress while benefiting Dayspring Women's Center and Porter County Family Counseling Center at the Global Scream Fest! Let the stress melt away with food trucks, a beer & wine tent, live music, drawings, kids activities from 4-6 pm, chair massages, and a scream competition. Kids activities include live interactive music beginning at 4 pm, painting, and special guests The Flanagin Fairies.
Celebrating Elvis’ Legacy of Giving
The twenty-first annual Elvis FANtasy Fest will take place the weekend of October 11-13 at the Woodland Park Community Building. This year’s Elvis Fantasy Fest is themed “My Happiness” in honor of the record Elvis paid to cut at the famed SUN Studio in 1953. Part of the event proceeds will benefit Porter County Special Olympics.
Flamenco to Be Performed at Don Quijote
Want to catch dinner and a show? Come out to Don Quijote on Sunday, October 13th, for an evening of live flamenco! Tickets are still available!
2nd Saturdays! in October Bring Downtown Trick or Treat Fun!
Bring the kids out in costume early for a fun filled downtown event including trick or treating with the businesses. The 2nd Saturday Downtown Trick or Treat Night also includes free cider donated by Garwood Orchards and pumpkin sales by Fischer Farm. Princesses Rapunzel and Sofia the First will also be in this area for free visits and pictures with the kids, along with the Northwest Indiana Ghostbusters.
Fall Bazaar and Bake Sale to Benefit Alzheimer's Association
Rittenhouse Senior Living will be hosting their first Fall Bazaar & Bake Sale on Saturday, October 12th. Shop all of your favorite vendors including: Pampered Chef, Mary Kay, Tupperware, Tastefully Simple, Thirty One, Scentsy, Stampin Up, homemade jewelry and other craft items.
Fiesta Folkorico 2013 Set for October 12
The Ballet Folklorico Tapatio of Northwest Indiana is proud to present Fiesta Folklorico 2013. The event lineup has incurred a couple of last minute changes, including the addition of the prominent Fiesta Mexicana Dance Company of Arizona and the talented, Milwaukee-based mariachi singer Salvador Villanueva. Also returning this year will be the famed Mexican Folkloric Dance Co. of Chicago.
La Porte Educational Development Foundation's 12th Annual Homecoming Tailgate Party
Come share in the fun with your friends and family before the 2013 Homecoming Game featuring La Porte vs. Michigan City. In addition to the food there will be face painting, a dunk tank, a candy sale, and a visit from the LPHS cheerleaders and the 2013 Homecoming candidates. The dunk tank will feature staff members!

Saturday, October 12 join Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Indiana at the Lake County Fair Grounds in Crown Point , Ind. for its third annual 5K Walk/Run. Rain or shine! The race kicks off at 9 am. All ages are welcome.
All Are Invited to Oktoberfest October 11
If you love autumn, German food, pumpkin carving or dogs, you have a reason to attend Oktoberfest on October 11! In addition to kids activities, there will be hayrides, a biergarten, a pumpkin carving contest, live music by Jay Fox and the Bavarian Showtime Band, a Lakeshore PAWS’ pet adoption event, face painting, German-inspired food from Valpo Vienna’s and Ben’s Pretzels, and arts and crafts vendors.
