“Math can be an intimidating subject, especially for students who have struggled with math at an early age. In my opinion, a lot of students struggle not because they aren’t capable but because they lack confidence in themselves. I try to be as positive as possible with my students and create a culture in my classroom where students are happy and can succeed,” Stillman said.

“I tutored math in college, and I always enjoyed helping students who normally struggled with math. I love the challenge of making a subject that is normally difficult for students into a subject that is enjoyable for them," Stillman said.

“I play cello in the orchestra; Aaron Zemelko has grown to be one of my favorite teachers and makes playing really fun. I’ve made a lot of long term friends through orchestra,” Poer said.

As a member of the school orchestra, she not only adds depth and richness to the music but also inspires her fellow musicians with her talent and dedication.

“I am the People and Index Editor, which means I make sure people get coverage and I keep the index in order throughout the year. The people in yearbook are some of my best friends who I can’t wait to see everyday,” Poer said.

“I am a part of light and sound for Crown Point High School Theatre, more specifically the sound part. I have met a lot of new people through theatre that I would’ve never met otherwise. I genuinely see theatre as my home,” Poer said.
