In an effort to help promote Cross Country in Northwest Indiana, an idea was thought of two years ago to have a show on youtube live streamed talking about the upcoming season. The response was awesome! Sixteen coaches showed up and talked about their season with a couple of their kids. The kids interacted and even signed some autographs for some young fans that were in attendance. A great day of promotion for our sport. Video of the show can be seen below.
2021 NWI Cross Country Preview Show
We are proud to announce that the NWI Cross Country Preview Show is back for 2023! This year Tempo Run Timing and Events will be partnering with Chris Mahlmann, founder of GreatNews.Life for coaches and athletes interviews.
Details: The date will be Tuesday August 1st, 2023 at Catch Table & Tap located at 500 E 81st Avenue in Merrillville with interviews starting at 5pm. Tune in to the Tempo Run Timing & Events Facebook page then to catch interview with the coaches and more!
NEW Catch Your Time: Prediction Run
In partnership with Catch Restaurant and additionally as part of the NWI Cross Country Preview Event we're inviting all NWI high school cross country athletes to compete in "Catch Your Time", a FREE, fun, and friendly competition to see who has the best internal clock.
Catch Your Time is a 1.5 mile time prediction run where each athlete must predict their finishing time, then run the route with no watch, phone, or other time tracking device. Whoever finishes closest to their predicted time wins!
Athletes must pre-register for the event through the race website linked below. Please note, there is a runner limit of 5 athletes per gender from each school. We're capping the event at 100 athletes so sign up soon! Registration for Catch Your Time
