3rd Annual Haven Hollow Harvest Fest A Huge Success

3rd-Annual-Haven-Hollow-Harvest-Fest-A-Huge-Success-01The 3rd Annual Haven Hollow Harvest Fest was a huge success again this year, bringing family-fun activities to Portage Township. Taking place on Friday, October 16th from 5:30-8:30p at Haven Hollow Park in South Haven, the event drew in approximately 300 children and their families.

The crisp cool air and dry conditions lent to a perfect night for harvest activities including; horse & carriage rides, crafts, games, pumpkin decorating, and bonfire with spooky stories! The volunteer committee was ready with plenty of food and treat bags; distributing 660 hot dogs, 12 gallons of cider, 290 treat bags, 300 pumpkins, plus toys, candy, coupons, and prizes (and toothbrushes & paste, too!).

Matt Lentz, of Aqua Indiana South Haven and his family attended the Haven Hollow Harvest Fest, stating; “Aqua Indiana South Haven is proud to be a part of this free event for the children of Portage Township. It’s great to see so many kids and their parents come out and enjoy themselves in this safe and controlled environment. We are thankful for the Portage Township Park Department and these events which improve the quality of life for members of our community.”

“The Haven Hollow Harvest Fest has been one of the most enjoyable events to bring to the community thanks to the generosity, enthusiasm, and support received from local businesses, service organizations, and volunteers that have come together to make this happen”, states Joy Lundstrom, Superintendent of Portage Township Parks & Recreation Department.
