A La Porte County Life In The Spotlight: Brittany Fisher

Brittany Fisher was born and raised in LaPorte. She is a Purdue graduate looking to leave her northwest Indiana footprint. For her, she doesn’t plan on leaving her roots behind any time soon.

“What I like most about my community is that we are all so supportive of one another no matter the situation. There have been families in our community that went through tragedies and, with our small town, everyone hears and immediately finds a way to help support them,” said Fisher.

Fisher loves her community because she enjoys that tight bond. She is involved in 4-H and has volunteered at Reigns of Life, which is a therapeutic horse-riding program. She is an active member in her town and says it is important to give back.

“Everyone gives to you and you should give back too. I’m from a small community, so people are always there for you. People are always willing to help others out,” said Fisher. “Everyone knows everyone, and I plan on staying here my whole life. I want to be able to raise my family here and leave an impact.”

For Fisher, Northwest Indiana will always be home.

“What sticks out to me the most about northern Indiana is that we are lucky enough to enjoy all four of the seasons, some days all four in just one day,” said Fisher. “I’m most grateful to be surrounded by the beauty of farmland and all of the lakes we get to enjoy.”

Currently, Fisher is the marketing manager for CompressAir, which is an industrial air compressor distributor for Sullair.

“My first task when I came on board at CompressAir in June 2017, after I graduated from Purdue University with an Agriculture Communication degree, I redesigned their website. Now, I spend most days helping our sales team by putting together material about our products and company to use out in the field, working with advertising firms such as newspapers and magazines to share about our company,” said Fisher.

She thanks her parents for her career path, and for their endless support.

“First and foremost, I have to give my parents number one credit. They blessed me with the opportunity to go to college and follow my dreams to start a career. When I was a sophomore in college, I ran into Andy Crowl (Owner of CompressAir) and asked him if his company was looking for a sales/marketing summer intern. If you’ve ever had the opportunity to meet Andy you’d know what a humble and kind guy he is to all of those around him. As I started to work with their sales team on different projects, one summer turned into two and the next thing I knew he offered me a full time position as their marketing manager. As my career has really just started, I am happy to be back in my community and working for a company like this,” said Fisher.

In the future, Fisher plans to excel in her career, and in her community.

“When the time comes, I want to have a family here, and have them close to the rest of my family. I grew up having my cousins as my best friends, and I want the same for my children someday. I want them to have the same opportunity,” said Fisher.
