With the ever-evolving nature of technology, First Trust Credit Union is committed to using that technology for the sake of its members’ accessibility. While accessing current and available balances is a critical component of e-services that many credit unions and banks offer, with its member-first mindset, First Trust Credit Union wanted to provide members with even more online banking opportunities to make tackling their financial needs and desires as convenient as possible.
Dorene Martinson, marketing director for First Trust Credit Union, is pleased with the electronic banking services provided for their account holders (also referred to as members).
“Did you know that many people question whether credit unions are as technologically advanced as large banks?” she asked. “Here at First Trust, we provide an abundance of products and services, including our online banking program called It’s Me 247 and our FREE mobile app, in order to provide our account holders with the most convenient, up-to-date and secure electronic service options.”
This starts with an intuitive website layout that is clean, organized, and user-friendly whether members are using it for the first time, or they are already familiar with First Trust’s online banking program It’s Me 247.
Beyond the home page, which displays current promotions and options to view loan rates, account holders and the general public can apply for a loan or learn more about becoming a member of First Trust Credit Union. The display tabs include different categories to explore such as: About Us, Accounts, Online Access, Services, Business Services, Loans, and the Security Center.
Through the website, members can access current and available balances, set up one-time/recurring transfers or payments, compare rates, set up account alerts on It’s Me 247 Online Banking, review their transaction history, pay bills, apply for and/or manage their credit card account, apply for loans, use First Trust Credit Union’s mortgage calculator, and much more.
Aside from opening a traditional checking or savings account, account holders can open a variety of additional accounts such as:
- Rainy Day Accounts
- Christmas Club Accounts
- Vacation Club Accounts
- Money Market Plu$ Accounts
- Certificates of Deposit
Despite online banking already proving to be a highly convenient resource for account holders, First Trust Credit Union did not want to stop there. When you are unable to access a computer to take advantage of online banking opportunities, First Trust Credit Union offers a FREE mobile banking app for easy and secure access on the go.
The mobile app gives members access to First Trust Credit Union’s online banking features. The app also enables members to find an ATM, locate a shared branch, complete a mobile deposit, and pay with digital wallets.
WIth all forms of remote banking access, security is key. This is why First Trust Credit Union protects members when they are using the mobile banking app through the use of voice recognition, face recognition, finger print, and PIN login options. In addition, if members, for any reason, would like to temporarily lock and unlock their debit cards, they can do so instantly through their “Manage My Cards” option in First Trust Credit Union’s mobile app.
Martinson said the Mobile App is one her favorite products/services that First Trust Credit Union offers.
“The mobile app is a safe and convenient way for our members to be able to conduct a large majority of their banking from their cellular devices,” she continued. “Perhaps my favorite feature on the app is the Debit Card Lock Feature where we are able to 'lock,' or turn off, our debit cards instantly. This comes in handy if your debit card is lost, stolen, or just temporarily misplaced. It protects your money instantly and it only takes a few seconds to go into the app and lock the card, and you can instantly unlock (activate) the card as soon as you find it or want to utilize it again.”
Whether you are looking for convenience, versatility, or security, First Trust Credit Union’s e-service options were built with their account holders (members) in mind.
