All Elkhart Community Schools Students Eligible For Breakfasts, Lunches at No Cost For 2024-25 School Year

For the 2024-25 school year, all Elkhart Community Schools students will be provided breakfasts and lunches at no charge. The district applied and qualified for the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) in partnership with the USDA and Indiana Department of Education.

This agreement covers one complete breakfast and one complete lunch per school day, per student, throughout the school year. ECS families do not need to take any further action - all students will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit an application. ECS Food Services staff are confident this program will significantly benefit students and families.

“We are very excited to offer two meals per day for our students at no charge,” says ECS Food Services Director Pam Melcher. “Our department believes that offering this to ECS families will help students at all grade levels feel supported and ready to achieve their goals.”

Families with further questions are asked to contact Food Services at (574) 262-5551.
