Quality Regulatory Specialist in La Porte, Indiana

Salary Range:$59,920.00 To $74,900.00 Annually

Position Overview:

  • The primary purpose of this position is assisting with labeling review for finished good food products both domestic and international for both plants. Works closely with Innovation, QA, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Project Management teams. Utilizes foundational knowledge of 21CFR Part 101 (Food Labeling) Part 172 (Food Additives), Parts 181 – 184 (GRAS) to support cross functional team (CFT).  Reviews raw materials and formulas for compliance.
  • Develop components of product label including ingredient statement, allergen declaration, nutrition facts panel, net weight statement and claims, which meet government requirements, and standards of identity.
  • Capably reads CFR (Code of Federal Regulations).
  • Identifies clear connections between nutritional information, ingredient statements, and claims.
  • Fully understand and apply FDA and International labeling regulations as needed and be knowledgeable of retail food labeling regulation and guidance. Provide the highest level of expertise and technical regulatory customer service to Quality, Sales, and R&D to commercialize and meet the marketing demands of new and existing products.
  • Support continuous improvement activities associated with technical information requests and department objectives.
  • Analyze work performed and report to upper management the emerging trends in requests, potential areas of improvement, or risk/impact of the inquiries.
  • Collaborate with and provide mentorship to cross-functional partners for project teams, including commercial marketing, legal, nutrition, health and wellness, and product development.
  • Read, analyze and interpret food-industry periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Contribute optimally to the foundation of the Regulatory team by maintaining compliance tools, updating policies and procedures, and striving for continuous improvement to enable products to get to market quickly.

Salary Range:$25.0000 To $30.0000 Hourly

Position Overview:

The Maintenance Technician’s responsibility is to perform daily equipment and building maintenance to ensure proper functioning of plant manufacturing operations and systems while adhering to company standards, and policies. Candidate corrects/repairs plant mechanical and electrical problems; performs preventative maintenance, completes work orders and assigned projects.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Have a good understanding and sufficient mastery of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
  • Have the maintenance skills to perform the job effectively
  • Have general knowledge of plumbing, welding & fabrication, PLC/Industrial Electronics, Power Transmission, Electrical Controls, Hydraulics/Pneumatics
  • ability to interpret mechanical and electrical prints to resolve equipment
  • Execute work requests and project assignments as directed by the Maintenance Manager in a safe, professional and timely manner.
  • Provide effective communication at all levels, across all shifts; both verbal and written.
  • Promote teamwork as well as creating a safe, positive work environment. 
  • Responsible for Food Safety, as related to the position

Requirements:

  • Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations; demonstrate a positive attitude viewing problems as opportunities.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, prints, drawings, technical information, and equipment manuals.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree, Journeyman, Skilled Tradesman or equivalent training
  • Three to five years’ experience leading others in a manufacturing maintenance role.
  • Computer skills – ability to use and interpret job related software
  • Lean manufacturing/process improvement training and/or experience.
  • Aptitude and desire for learning.
