Annual Bingo Event Helps Raise Money for Local Senior Programs

Rittenhouse Senior Living of Portage hosted their third annual Vera Bradley Bingo event on Saturday, November 21st and despite the first snow storm of the year there was a large crowd in attendance. Attendees played Bingo for Vera Bradley bags that were donated by several local home health and hospice companies. “With the gracious outpouring of sponsorships we were able to donate all proceeds to the recipients” says Judy Kukelka, Marketing Director at Rittenhouse.

All proceeds were donated to Bonner Senior Center of Portage, Maria Reiner Center of Hobart and St. Agnes Adult Day Center in Valparaiso. Each recipient received about $500.00 each. Barb Kubiszak of St. Agnes says “the money will be used toward our scholarship fund or activity supplies such as Build a Bears for our guests.”

Vera Bradley Bingo is hosted every November at Rittenhouse in Portage. Rittenhouse offers Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care and was voted 2015 Neighbors’ Choice Award by the Post Tribune. For more information or to schedule a tour call 219-764-2900.
