Aviva Valparaiso hosted a renovation celebration for the community on Thursday, November 2.
The celebration opened up at 4 p.m. People gathered together in recognition of several upgrades in the community since the company was bought out by Lloyd Jones last year.
Susan Burelli, sales and marketing specialist with Aviva Valparaiso, notes the types of renovations.
“We’ve got all new flooring, furniture, and paint,” Burelli said. “We thought this would be a fun way to recognize these improvements.”
Not only have there been renovations in the past year for Aviva Valparaiso, but also additions. One of the most notable new amenities is the therapy room. Burelli believes this is a great addition, especially for those with assisted living and memory care.
“Our residents and the community can come in to use the therapy room as they please,” Burelli said. “We will have a full-time physical and occupational therapist with a doctor’s order that allows us to do therapy here in the community, rather than residents going out for it.”
At 4:30 p.m., the Greater Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce arrived to perform a ribbon cutting and introduce their Business After Hours event. Once a month, the Valpo Chamber hosts this event at various locations in the city. According to Burelli, this collaboration was in the works for 10 months to create a beautiful celebration.
Brie Zacharias, vice president of sales and marketing for the Greater Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce, was excited to have their Business After Hours event at Aviva Valparaiso this month.
“They’ve been a part of the community for a long time now,” Zacharias said. “They’re changing everything up inside and out to make the residence better for their clientele. We’re happy to be a part of it.”
Zacharias has been looking forward to this date since the plan originated. She discusses how this is a big step for not only Aviva Valparaiso but also the Greater Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce.
“We have so many different types of businesses that we work with,” Zacharias said. “Each one has its own scope and nature. I’m looking forward to seeing what their new remodel has in store for them moving forward.”
The celebration had a wide variety of food and drinks for all the attendees to enjoy. There was music for the live entertainment as everyone celebrated the special occasion.
Aviva Valparaiso takes pride in their building. They’re optimistic that these renovations will benefit the way of life for everyone who uses them.
“The biggest thing for our team is the desire to be involved with the community,” Burelli said. “We are here for any residents in Valparaiso. Not only do we want the best for our seniors, but community members of all ages. The doors are always open for anybody to come in.”
In addition, Aviva Valparaiso hosts additional fundraisers or parties to provide fun experiences for families.
