rot3From the Desk of the Life Enrichment Director
Goodness, it is already June and we just celebrated Memorial Day, which kicks off our summer events. It gave us the opportunity to express our gratitude for the men and women who have served and are serving in our military.

We will be celebrating the 4th of July and to end the summer with Labor Day. Let us show how much we are proud to be an American! Wear your red, white, and blue on Flag Day, June 14.June will be the time we honor our fathers or any men in the branch. It is also the time of year I start to take the residents on little day events, Lake County Fairgrounds, the Farmer’s markets and community events. It is fun to get out and enjoy your town. -Marnie

Health Notes
Getting the best out of your tooth brush Brushing and flossing is the best way to protect your teeth and gums-but not if your toothbrush is in bad shape. Toothbrush bristles that are worn or frayed from use cannot effectively remove plaque, which is critical to maintaining healthy teeth and gums.

Some advice:

  • Don’t cover up brushes between uses. Allow them to air-dry instead. This method will lessen the growth of bacteria.
  • Rinse them thoroughly. After each use rinse them under running water until all remaining toothpaste is cleaned off.
  • Store them in an upright position to best air them out.
  • Replace them often. Get a new brush at least every 3 months.
