Sporting a record of 4-1 on the season, the Bowman Academy Eagles have taken over as the top ranked team in Northwest Indiana, according to the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association’s latest boys basketball poll released on Monday.
The Eagles, coached by Marvin Rea, are now ranked sixth in the state and are the second highest ranked one-loss team in Indiana with 235 points. They passed Munster for the top spot in the area. The Mustangs, with a record of 4-2, dropped to 18th in the poll.
Lake Central is the highest rated Duneland Athletic Conference team, now taking over the number eight spot with a 5-1 overall record.
Chesterton and Hammond Bishop Noll received votes, but were not included in the poll’s top 20.
Carmel is the number one team in the state according to the poll. The Greyhounds garnered all 19 first place votes.
