Calling Volunteers for Meals on Wheels of Northwest Indiana!

 Meals-on-WheelsCalling Volunteers!
If you are recently retired and looking for a rewarding opportunity to occupy your time but not too much time, why not consider volunteering to deliver meals for our homebound and elderly clients? There is nothing more rewarding than knowing you are making a difference in someone’s life. We are currently recruiting drivers/delivery volunteers in the St. John/Schererville, Whiiting and Hammond communities. If you have knowledge of these neighborhoods, and would like to help your neighbors delivering meals to their homes, we would love to have you join us for training. Each day, volunteers assist in the delivery of more than 1,200 meals throughout Lake County. According to Joan Vith, Volunteer Manager, “volunteers are our greatest resource, we look forward to having additional recent retirees join us. “

Interested candidates are invited to attend our Volunteer Orientation and Training Session at the Meals on Wheels Community Room, 8446 Virginia Street in Merrillville. A one-hour session will be held on Thursday, February 19th at 1:00 p.m. Applicants will have an opportunity to tour the facility and ask questions about Meals on Wheels and the different volunteer opportunities we have available.

To register for training, or for more information on individual or corporate volunteering opportunities, contact Joan at (219)-756-3663, or email joan@mownwi.org
