With homecoming right around the corner, the search for dresses is on many high school girls’ minds. Seniors Kayla Ferrari, Tori Kolar, and Marissa Cavanaugh headed to Catherine’s Bridal Boutique in downtown Valparaiso with the hopes of finding the perfect dress.
Catherine’s has all the latest options for homecoming dresses. From fun two-pieces to long-sleeve lace dresses in every color and size, you are sure to find exactly what you are looking for.
“We try to bring in a little bit of everything so that there is always something that everyone wants to try on,” said owner Cathy Brown. “Sometimes you try on something that you didn’t think you’d ordinarily want. We try to bring in some pieces that you wouldn’t see anywhere else. When you come here you know you’re getting something original.”
Ferrari was able to find a beautiful silver dress for the fun-filled evening.
“The dresses here are comfortable but also very fashionable,” said Ferrari. “I like that this store is very personal. There’s always someone working with you. They pick out dresses that they think would look good on you, and they encourage you when you have a nice dress on. They say that you look beautiful. They also help you pick out the perfect shoes to go along with the dress.”
Cavanaugh was also able to find a dress for homecoming at Catherine’s.
“What I like about this store is that it is very unique,” said Cavanaugh. “No other store is like Catherine’s Bridal. The dresses are very form-fitting and I haven’t really seen any dresses like the ones I found today.”
Kolar, who bought her prom dress at Catherine’s last year, left the store, homecoming dress in hand.
Kolar said, “I bought my prom dress here last year and I absolutely loved it. It was a great price and there is a great variety here. The people here are so nice and ready to help you find different options. I’m super excited to also be getting my homecoming dress here.”
For those who are not quite as lucky as Ferrari, Cavanaugh, and Kolar, Catherine’s Bridal can order you the sizes and colors you need.
“We are very laid-back here and we want everyone to have a good time,” said Brown. “If that means trying on 50 different dresses, we are happy to do that. If it’s just looking through and finding the right one, we are happy to do that as well.”

Brown said, “I think it’s a really exciting time. I know [homecoming] is a quick thing and you wait till the last minute to decide. That is okay here because we have lots of options. You can easily come here and buy something off the rack and go to homecoming.”
