Working for Center for Hospice Care as a Patient Advocate, for me, fulfills a desire to want to help. While I'm not providing the actual hands-on care that so many of our wonderful nurses and aides do, my job allows me to encourage health care providers to direct their patients and their patients' families to our care at a very significant point in their lives. So, while I don't do anything clinical in a direct sense, I am at least helping guide people to outstanding, compassionate care when they need it most. And that makes me feel like I'm doing something very special and very good for patients, families, and our community.
