CertaPro celebrates its employees with annual Christmas party

On Thursday, December 7 CertaPro Painters of Northwest Indiana hosted their annual Christmas party at the Youche Country Club in Crown Point. Everyone in the company gathered and celebrated the amazing year they had. It is important to feel recognition for a job well done, and tonight was all about ensuring that the employees of CertaPro felt recognition and gratitude for a year filled with tremendous success.

“Tonight is about focusing on the guys in the field. This is for the painters. It is their night. We want to show our appreciation for all the things that they do for us, for our customers, and for the community. They are the ones that deserve most of the credit,” said President and Owner of CertaPro Painters of Northwest Indiana John Jordan.

Some businesses get so caught up in their day-to-day lives, that it is hard to make time for get-togethers like tonight’s event. For CertaPro, they host this Christmas party every single year and make sure their employees know how much their work pays off.

“We do not do this type of stuff very often. We have various meetings throughout the year, but rarely are we ever all under the same roof, so that is huge. We have field and office workers who deserve recognition. On top of that, we have an entire year before we do this again. In addition to this event, we host a summer party as well,” said Jordan. “Those are probably the only times we get everybody sitting here together. Showing the level of respect for each other, our roles and responsibilities. We all appreciate each other, but it is just nice to be able to have the time to do it.”

As it is the season of giving, employees received gift baskets as a token of gratitude for their efforts in 2023. There was a raffle ticket entry as well. The employees were given raffle tickets and the amount of tickets they received was all based on their production, ratings, and overall NPS (Net Promoter Score). This set quite the mood in the room as everyone was sitting on the edge of their seat with anticipation. A top-of-the-line airless sprayer was given to the ticket that was drawn for this award and it went to Jay Carpenter, job site supervisor with over eight (8) years of experience with CertaPro!  Additionally, special gifts were provided to the Residential crew of the year’s Job Site Supervisor Gabriel Lopez with over three (3) years of experience and the Commercial crew of the year’s Job Site Supervisor Angelo LaSalvia with almost (2) years of experience.

“Just seeing the smiles on people's faces is great. We have weekly and monthly meetings where we get together, but on a day like this, we have to put work to the back of our minds so we can let loose,” said CertaPro Painters of Northwest Indiana Director of Operations Mark Powers.

Most of the workers at CertaPro have been with the company for eight to ten years, which is quite the longevity for this type of work. For most of the workforce, they work as much as they do because of the passion they have for what they do. Others work hard to provide for their loved ones. For the workers at CertaPro, it is both.

“The one thing that makes it really exciting is to see the men, just like me, showing up every day, on time, and just seeing that we are not alone and we have a family here that actually cares for each other,” said Andrew Mason, head supervisor and sub-contractor for CertaPro.
