Once again, Haley O'Keefe and family organized and led the annual placing of the 2977 small U.S. flags in the rain at 5:30 a.m. this morning. One flag bearing the name for each soul lost 14 years ago in the attack on America was placed in front of the Chesterton High School Stadium today along 11th St. in Chesterton. The O'Keefe family began this tradition the year after the 9/11 tragedy and have continued ever since. Volunteers assisting the family were some of her fellow classmates, several CHS secretaries, as well as Coach Peterson and football team members.
