The Chesterton High School Show Choirs competed successfully this past Saturday in the Lawrence North Midwest Vocal Showcase.
During preliminary performances, the Drifters took home Champion of the Women's Division and received the award for Best Costumes.
The CHS Show Choir Band was awarded Best Band and the Sandpipers earned First Runner-Up in the Large Mixed Division with junior, Sean Puent awarded Outstanding Male Soloist within a show. Both groups earned a spot in the Finals with their outstanding prelim performances.
During the Finals, the Drifters took Second Runner-Up and the Sandpipers were awarded Grand Champion and earned the award for Best Choreography. This is their third grand championship of the season.
In addition to the successful group performances, CHS also earned accolades in the solo competition. Juniors Jenny Haggerty and Diva Bridegroom tied for second place honors and junior Natalie Mayersky took home the Grand Champion of the Pop Solo Contest.
