Where Were You?
I still vividly recall a day back in November of 1963. I was watching TV with my parents, every channel was broadcasting the news of President Kennedy’s death. A man by the name of Lee Harvey Oswald was soon arrested for the murder of our President and at some point, I watched as he too was gunned down by another assassin, a man by the name of Jack Ruby. For those of my generation, the question we all knew the answer to was “Where were you when you heard that President Kennedy had been shot and killed?”
Unfortunately, there now exists yet another question that a new generation will long have an answer for….
Amazingly 10 years have passed, but we shall always remember. Please join us this Sunday for a Memorial Service at Frank Gilbert Memorial Park, Willowcreek and Mulberry here in Portage. The service will begin at 8:40am and will last approximately 30 minutes. We hope to see you there.
