The City of Gary will present its annual Independence Day Parade on Friday, July 3, 2015. The parade theme is, “Uplifting Gary!”
The parade will travel north on Broadway from 15th Avenue to Buffington Park (6th Avenue & Connecticut Street) beginning at 9:00 a.m. Featured in the parade will be special guests, clowns, floats, vehicles, bands, and more. Parade lineup time is 7:00 a.m. at Washington Park (15th & Pennsylvania St.) as well as the parking lot of the YWCA of NWI (150 W. 15th Avenue) and Froebel Park (15th & Madison St.).
The public is invited to join Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson in this exciting display of our city’s patriotism during this annual historic celebration.
The City of Gary’s parade has been dubbed “one of the best Independence Day parades in Northwest Indiana.” The Mayor will recognize first, second and third place winners in each category as well the best overall winner.
