CoAction’s Area Agency on Aging Region 1, serving Lake, Porter, Jasper, Newton, Starke and Pulaski counties, is hosting an important community event, CASOA Report: Older Adults and Their Communities, on Tuesday, April 16, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at 5240 Fountain Drive, Crown Point, IN 46307. A virtual option will also be available for those unable to attend in person.
Led by CoAction’s leadership team, this event will present key findings from the 2024 Community Assessment Survey for Older Adults (CASOA), which evaluates the strengths and needs of older adults based on their own experiences. The CASOA Report provides valuable insights that help local governments, community-based organizations, and private sector partners understand the services and resources necessary to support an aging population.
CASOA Measures Six Key Areas:
- Community Design
- Employment and Finances
- Equity and Inclusivity
- Health and Wellness
- Information and Assistance
- Productive Activities
The event will offer a comprehensive look at how older adults in Northwest Indiana perceive their communities, identifying both strengths and areas for improvement. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A discussion following the presentation.

This event is open to professionals working with older adults, caregivers, advocates, local government representatives, and community organizations that support aging populations in Northwest Indiana.
