Community driven, American RENOLIT donates supplies to La Porte Middle School

After a year of uncertainty and destruction to the workforce, employees of American RENOLIT came together dedicated to participating in a raffle to gather funds to give back to a local school. On Thursday afternoon, members of the American RENOLIT team delivered these donations to La Porte Middle School, a school committed to providing all students with learning opportunities that will allow them to develop their full potential and pursue excellence in a safe and positive environment.

“I believe this year’s donations are more special,” said Heather Glanz, Talent Acquisition and Employee Engagement Specialist at American RENOLIT.  “Our workforce was impacted by COVID-19, fortunately not severe like some companies, but to see the amount of employees participating and giving makes me extremely proud to be part of the team.”

First-year teachers are tasked with the difficult job of having to invest in supplies in order to supply their classrooms all while trying to develop their students.  American RENOLIT was happy to provide some of those items to benefit teachers, students, and the community.

“It has been a holiday tradition at American RENOLIT to raise money for a good cause,” said Melissa Gruber, Human Resources Manager for American RENOLIT. “The employees donate money, and the company matches the employees’ donations.  We are very fortunate and proud to have such generous employees. As a family-owned company, it is important for us to give back to our community.”

The donation from American RENOLIT provided new teachers at La Porte Middle School with posters, books, balance chairs, mini dry erase boards, a bookcase, supplies for organization, and more.

Elizabeth Krutz, principal of La Porte Middle School, emphasized how important these donations are to new teachers.

“The donations are wonderful,” Krutz said. “It was so nice for the teachers to be able to pick out things and tailor what that they needed for their classrooms. As a new teacher, you always need so much stuff to set up your classroom, and these items help them do that.”

American RENOLIT prides themselves on their community involvement, specifically in local schools. This is important for President Nils Dietz, whose mother served as a teacher for many years. Dietz understands the amount of work, effort, and dedication teachers devote to their students.

Their goal is to give back while educating students about American RENOLIT, a global company that specialized in the manufacturing of plastics films.

“We want to attract all types of students, whether they are college bound, technical school, or not interested in attending school after they graduate high school,” said Glanz. “American RENOLIT offers competitive wages, great benefits and family atmosphere.”

RENOLIT has been one of the leading innovators in the industry and is celebrating their 75th anniversary this year. They have over 30 locations all around the world, with one being located locally in the City of La Porte.

“We hope to improve the future La Porte workforce by sharing what RENOLIT has to offer and educate students,” Glanz said. “Students should be La Porte proud and hopefully, they too will give back to the community and remember what the different companies provided when they were in school.”

Schools will continue to be a large focus for American RENOLIT. In the future, they hope to continue to give back to schools La Porte.
