Community Invited to “Stories from the Heart” Events at Northwest Health

To commemorate American Heart Month, Northwest Health will host “Stories from the Heart,” a special event showcasing the many ways heart disease, the number one cause of death in men and women in the United States, connects us all.

The events will take place at:

Northwest Health – Porter, 1 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 7 in the main lobby located at 85 East U.S. Highway 6 in Valparaiso.

and

Northwest Health – La Porte, 1 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8 in the main lobby, located at 1331 State St. in La Porte.

All are welcome to attend.

“Stories from the Heart” will feature comments from hospital officials, a special firsthand account from a heart disease survivor and other hospital caregivers sharing how caring for your heart is one of the best ways to increase longevity.

During American Heart Month in February, we renew our focus on the fight against heart disease.

Our ‘Stories from the Heart’ special event is one opportunity for Northwest Health to remind everyone that so much surrounding heart disease is preventable. And by informing people to take charge of their health and adopt a healthy lifestyle, they can dramatically reduce the risk of heart disease

Additionally in observance of American Heart Month this February, all three Northwest Health hospitals are taking the entire month to help people in Northwest Indiana learn ways to reduce their risks with the Leap Into Heart Health educational email series. Participants who sign up will receive short, fun-filled, fact-filled and potentially life-saving emails designed to help improve heart health. To sign up for Leap into Heart Health, visit NWHealthIN.com/Heart-Challenge.
