Crown Point Community School Corporation is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Gabriel as the new assistant principal of Colonel Wheeler Middle School.
Mr. Gabriel will join the district after leaving Union Center Elementary School, where he served as principal since 2021. Prior to this, he was the principal of Wanatah Public School and also served as assistant principal and athletic director at Kouts Middle/High School. Mr. Gabriel is returning to our district, having previously worked in CPCSC as a technology education teacher at Colonel Wheeler Middle School from 2007-2016. He also coached JV baseball and middle school wrestling. Mr. Gabriel is a graduate of Merrillville High School, earned his teaching degree at Purdue University, and completed his Masters Degree in Educational Leadership at the American College of Education.
"Chris Gabriel’s background in educational leadership, coupled with his strong ties to our community, make him an outstanding fit for this role," said Superintendent Dr. Todd Terrill. "We are excited to welcome him back to Crown Point, where he will be a valuable asset to our team at Colonel Wheeler."
