Crown Point Announces Fall 2023 Events

The City of Crown Point is gearing up for a spooktacular October filled with free, family friendly events. 

Oktoberfest 

Join the City of Crown Point for two days of live music and German-inspired cuisine! Oktoberfest returns to Bulldog Park on Friday, Oct. 6, and Saturday, Oct. 7. The free event features something for everyone, including contests, live music, local food vendors, a beer garden, face painting, hayrides, a bean bag tournament and more! On Friday, Oct. 6, live music will begin at 5 p.m. and continue until 10 p.m. Registration for the bean bag tournament will open at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7. The tournament will start at 5:30 p.m. On Saturday, Oct. 7, live music will begin at 2 p.m. and continue until 9:30 p.m.

Fire Prevention Open House 

Cooking Safety Starts with You. Pay attention to fire prevention with Crown Point Fire Rescue during its 2023 Fire Prevention Week Open House. Join local firefighters to learn about kitchen safety, practice fire drills and more! Concessions and Crown Point Fire merchandise will be available for purchase. 

Time: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Place: Crown Point Fire Station, 126 N. East St.

Spooky Movie Night 

Join the City of Crown Point for a spooktacular showing of “Ghostbusters.” Please bring a blanket or lawn chair. Concessions will be available for purchase. 

Time: 6:30 p.m. 

Date: Friday, Oct. 13 

Place: Franciscan Health Pavilion at Bulldog Park, 183 S. West St. 

Cost: Free 

Touch a Truck 

Come check out the vehicles that keep the city moving during Touch a Truck. There will be fire trucks, police vehicles, dump trucks, ambulances and more! 

Time: 1-3 p.m. 

Date: Sunday, Oct. 15 

Place: Crown Point Sportsplex, 1313 E. North St. 

Cost: Free 

Pumpkin Walk 

Trick or treat around the square at local businesses in downtown Crown Point. Participating businesses will have a Pumpkin Walk flyer in the window. For a list of participating businesses, please visit the City of Crown Point Facebook page, @CityofCrownPointIN, closer to the event date. Costumes are encouraged, but not required. 

Time: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Place: Downtown Crown Point 

Cost: Free 

CPPD Trunk or Treat 

Trunk or treat with the Crown Point Police Department! Visit Legacy Fields at Center Ross Park for trick-or-treating with the Crown Point Police Department. Crown Point officers and local agencies will have their cars decorated with lots of candy and swag. Costumes encouraged! 

Time: 1-3 p.m.

Place: Legacy Fields at Center Ross Park, 851 Center Ross Road

Wandering with Those Before Us 

Join the City of Crown Point and the Crown Point Community Library for an evening of community and cemetery lore at the Library. Wandering with Those Before Us: The Cemeteries of Crown Point will expand your view of the Hub City while delighting you with stories from the past. 

Time: 6-7 p.m. 

Date: Monday, Oct. 30 

Place: Crown Point Community Library, meeting rooms 2 & 3, 122 N. Main St. Cost: Free 

Trick-or-Treating 

Trick-or-treating will be held rain or shine on Halloween. Participating homes should turn on a porch light to welcome trick-or-treaters. 

Time: 5-7 p.m. 

Date: Tuesday, Oct. 31 

Place: Around Crown Point 

Cost: Free
