At approximately 11:53 a.m. Monday, June 5, Crown Point Fire Rescue responded to the lobby of the Lake County Jail, 2293 Main St., for a reported fire.
The fire was extinguished before Crown Point Fire Rescue arrived. No one was injured.
Merrillville Fire Department also responded to the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and being handled by the Lake County Sheriff's Department.
