Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month (DDAM) is a month-long observance that brings attention to the varied and unique experiences of individuals with developmental disabilities. It’s a time to celebrate their achievements, advocate for their rights, and promote understanding and inclusivity within society. This observance coincides with the significance of March 21, Down Syndrome Awareness Day, as we celebrate inclusion and raise awareness for those with Down syndrome and other developmental disabilities.
We’re asking you to join us in raising awareness and taking meaningful steps to ensure that people with developmental disabilities have the tools, resources, and support they need to thrive.
How Can You Get Involved in Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month?
- Join us at Bentwood Tavern on March 13, 2025: Show your support by joining our inclusive community for dinner. The funds raised from the Giveback Dinner on March 13 will directly support our developmental disabilities support services, which include residential support, employment exploration, community integration, and educational programs. Reservations are not required but can be made HERE to ensure your seat.
- Spread Awareness: Follow Paladin on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn throughout March to hear compelling stories, learn practical ways to promote independence, and share posts that encourage others to join the movement.
- Support Paladin: Your contributions (whether time, talent, or treasure) directly impact our ability to provide 24/7 supports such as residential living, day programming, employment services, and community-based supports that empower individuals and their families to lead fulfilling lives. Donate today or begin to Volunteer with us!
- Celebrate Success Stories: Throughout the month, we’ll be spotlighting a few of the individuals we serve and their journey toward independence. These stories remind us that every pathway is unique but equally worth celebrating.
