Longtime staff member Steve Letic promoted to Portage Unit Director
Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County recently announced that Steve Letic has been promoted to Unit Director of the Forrest L. “Dusty” Rhode Portage Unit. Letic has been a staff member of Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County since 2006 serving in a number of capacities including Kidstop Site Director and most recently as Program Director of the Portage Unit. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Affairs and a Master’s degree in Public Administration.
As Unit Director, Letic is responsible for managing the Portage Club’s growth and operations, developing community relationships and maintaining high quality standards of the programs provided at the Portage Unit. “Having the ability to work with and reach out to parents, our school system and other community members gives me the opportunity to do more for our Club members,” Letic said about his new role.
The Portage Unit opened its doors in 1995 and currently serves over 200 youth per day. Still, Letic feels there is potential to do more. “What we are doing in the Portage Club will help these kids for the rest of their lives,” said Letic. “The greatest opportunity is to work together with the community to do what is best of our youth.”
