Discovery Cottage, a Valpo Parks Department facility, celebrated Earth Day by having the youth who attend programs there plant a tree. Park horticulturist Julia Plumb assisted the kids in learning about the tree, laying down mulch, shoveling dirt and watering the newly planted four-foot tall sapling on site at the Harrison Street location.
