As a marketing agency, Duneland Media understands the importance of first impressions. That’s why the company invited Region residents on Friday to Shut the Front Door, a unique event introducing La Porte to Duneland Media’s new office featuring live music, refreshments, and a ton of opportunities to connect with the community.
“I've been through a lot of ribbon cuttings, and I did not want to be corporate nor boring because we are neither,” said Duneland Media President and Co-Founder Tim Franke. “We like to have fun and bring a good energy to every day and what we do, and I wanted the ribbon cutting to reflect that and be more of a celebration and fun time.”
Duneland Media is a digital marketing agency that covers everything from search engine optimization (SEO) to drone work for its clients. The company is deeply rooted in the Region and enjoys giving back to the community that’s given Duneland Media so much.
“We just really wanted to give back to the community and all of our clients,” said Adam Konieczny, CEO and co-founder of Duneland Media. “We thought it'd be a good experience to give back to the community and to our people and our employees because our employees are really what makes us kind of tick around here.”
The gathering began with some opening jams from Neil Allesee, a musician blending rock, blues, and alternative music into something everyone can dance along to. Refreshments and food were provided for guests as they mingled, keeping everyone refreshed from the afternoon sunshine.
Once guests were settled, Allesee gave the floor to Franke and Konieczny to officially cut the ribbon on Duneland Media’s new office at 1305 Pine Lake Ave in La Porte.
“It makes me feel great seeing everyone enjoy themselves,” said Konieczny. “This is another reason why we do what we do. We like being able to really give back to the community and do things for our kids and our friends and our family and all the businesses around here. I appreciate everybody that came out to support us.”
Prominent members of the community turned out to support Duneland Media on their office upgrade, including the La Porte Economic Advancement Partnership (LEAP)’s President of Business Services Mike Riehle, Ric Federighi of WIMS Radio, and City of La Porte Mayor Tom Dermody.
Being so invested in the community has helped Duneland Media build trust in both old and new clients.
“We do a ton of different things for nonprofits, whether it's helping them with any kind of work or donating to various organizations,” said Franke. “We're all about our community and our community knows that. That translates into a good thing because we're all community partners.”
Duneland Media’s new office is spacious, with offices for Franke, Konieczny, and the rest of the team, a separate space for developers, a kitchen, and a studio. In fact, Duneland Media is actively seeking local businesses looking for office space to move into the upstairs of the new building.
“We overbought in terms of space, and we have co-working space for individual offices. You can rent your own locked office with a shared conference room and kitchenette,” said Franke. We also have a 1,200 square foot office space upstairs for lease as well.”
At the end of the day, Shut the Front Door provided an excellent opportunity for the community of La Porte to gather and support a local business doing everything it can for the community. Both Franke and Konieczny were thrilled by the number of people who turned up to tonight’s festivities.
“We're a small business, so we appreciate that small businesses are a big part of how our country runs,” said Konieczny. “Being able to help them out, get them new clients, and help them grow makes me and the rest of us here feel really good about ourselves and what we do.”
