Needs Assessment
Our 2024 Community Needs Assessment is now available! This comprehensive report includes key insights on poverty, community satisfaction, and the top needs in our service area. Learn about the programs CoAction offers and the impact we've made, such as securing safe housing and providing vital nutrition services. Access the full assessment to understand the challenges and opportunities within our community.
The key outcomes include 128,069 home-delivered meals, 941 households secured safe and affordable housing, and 3,170 tax returns filed through our VITA coalition.
From Client to Colleague
Heather's path with CoAction began with seeking vital support as a single mother. Through CoAction's Energy Assistance Program and the Individual Development Account program, she secured her family's warmth and diligently saved to purchase her first home. Inspired by the compassion she received, Heather joined CoAction's team, now thriving in a nurturing community dedicated to empowering others. Our commitment to financial stability and community resilience transforms lives daily.
In 2023, we provided utility assistance to 11,275 individuals and enabled 11 participants to purchase assets through the Matched Savings Program.

Gear: Sleeping Bags, Tents, Rain Ponchos
Personal Care: Tide Pods, Paper Towels, Toilet Paper, Dish Soap, Shampoo, Conditioner
You can drop off donations in our lobby at 2001 Calumet Ave. Valparaiso Monday through Friday from 10 am to 4 pm, or contact the office at (219) 548-2800 to make arrangements. If you purchase items from our Amazon Wishlist, they will be delivered directly to our housing office.
