The Community Youth Advocate (CYA) Program hosted a 2-day mini camp for teens this summer. 15 youth participated in tie dye projects, slime making, Uno tournament and more. Plans to visit Luhr Park to fish were postponed due to extreme heat; however, the camp concluded with a cookout providing food and games for campers. The mission of the experience was to provide fun for participants while integrating social emotional skills within the activities. Campers received a 3-month pass to the LaPorte YMCA for attending both days. This year’s camp was graciously funded by the LaPorte Circuit Court. CYA is planning a “Cabin Fever” STEM camp sometime in early 2023.
