The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and CoAction are excited to announce the relaunch of the Northern Indiana Bank On Alliance (NIBOA), aimed at expanding access to banking for unbanked and underbanked residents in Jasper, Lake, LaPorte, Newton, Porter, Pulaski, and Starke counties.
The Bank On event will take place on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at CoAction's Main Office, located at 5240 Fountain Drive, Crown Point, IN 46307. The event will bring together community stakeholders, including representatives from financial institutions, community-based organizations (CBOs), faith-based organizations, and local government entities, to discuss NIBOA’s mission and goals for enhancing financial access across the region.
A representative from the Cities for Financial Empowerment (CFE) Fund will provide insights into the Bank On national movement, a groundbreaking initiative that has already transformed many communities. Local leaders will share testimonies about the importance of Bank On in driving financial inclusion and empowering underserved populations. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in discussions about NIBOA’s future vision, priorities, and strategies for creating meaningful change.
