On Thursday April 28, 2011, Fegely middle school's Pre-AP 8th grade Science classes went to Imagination Glenn to test the water at the creek as part of Indiana's Hoosier RiverWatch program. Our classes monitor the water quality 4 times a year and report to the state the test results. The students tested for orthophosphate/phosphates, Nitrate/Nitrites, Ph, temperature, turbidity, and Oxygen levels. Oxygen tests take 5 days to complete. Phosphates are released in the water from the weathering of rocks. Phosphates also enter the water from fertilizers and partially or totally untreated sewage.
