The Portage Fire Department will be hosting its annual Fire Station Open House on Saturday October 2, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Station 1, 3401 Swanson Rd. 
Please join Portage Fire Department in celebrating Fire Prevention Week. This is a great time for kids to see the fire service up close.
The scheduled activities include: Access to the fire fighters, fire engines, ambulance, and equipment. Rescue Divers swimming in a tank, EDITH house instructions (demo of escaping a home during a fire), dressing in fire bunker gear, Smokey Bear and Fire Pup characters, Bosko the Arson dog, operating a fire hose. Hot dogs and drinks will also be served while they last.
