With cutting-edge technology and a local touch, NITCO is transforming how communities stay connected, one household at a time.
NITCO offers four main types of internet: DSL, fiber, coax, and fixed wireless to meet all customer needs. Each option is designed to meet different needs and different internet usage requirements.
Determining the right internet speed is an important step in ensuring a smooth online experience.
“How much internet someone needs depends on how many devices you have in your home and what you're trying to do,” said Travis Stojanovich, a customer service representative at NITCO.
For example, customers should consider how many devices will be downloading, streaming, and accessing the internet simultaneously. NITCO’s website even provides an easy to use meter to help users assess their current internet usage.
To support all the expanding internet needs, NITCO is on the cutting edge of fiber internet access.
“Fiber is the new big one, and we are putting fiber in a lot of areas,” said Stojanovich. “Fiber is one of our fastest services.”
Currently, NITCO fiber access is expanding rapidly throughout Northwest Indiana (NWI) and continued expansion is part of a robust five-year rollout plan.
For areas or locations not yet reached by fiber, NITCO provides reliable alternatives that will cover most internet needs including DSL, coax, and fixed wireless service.
“Our cable internet service runs through a TV cable line,” said Stojanovich. “Cable internet is what many customers are used to and covers multiple devices at one time.”
DSL service connects to the internet via a phone line while wireless service is recommended when other options are not available.
“Fixed wireless basically runs almost like a satellite,” said Stojanovich. “There's a receiver that would be mounted either on a pole or on someone's roof and is pointed towards the closest service tower to provide service.”
To enhance in-home internet performance, NITCO offers the Wi-Fi Plus system. This system includes three pods to eliminate dead zones and improve connectivity for smart devices in every room.
“Wi-Fi Plus creates a web of internet throughout the home,” said Stojanovich. “We also provide a user-friendly app that makes it easy for customers to see what is on each pod and provides flexibility.”
For example, Wi-Fi Plus allows customers to create up to 30 passwords for different people to be used during family visits or large events.
Although determining what type of service a customer needs can seem overwhelming, NITCO’s customer service team is ready to walk customers through the process. In fact, NITCO’s customer service team works closely with customers to make sure the right plan is chosen for their unique needs.
“Our goal is to ensure everyone has access to the speeds they need, no matter where they live,” Stojanovich said.
NITCO’s role as a small, family-owned business sets it apart in the industry.
“One of the best parts of what we do is provide local support,” said Stojanovich. “When someone calls, they will be talking to someone who lives in our area. You know it's someone you can actually get a hold of.”
NITCO isn’t just an internet provider—it’s a partner in helping families and neighborhoods thrive in a connected world.
